Insulating double and triple glazing
Insulating double and triple glazing is used to ensure thermal insulation. Thanks to the use of high-quality and functional coatings, this glazing offers optimal thermal comfort all year round. In winter, such glazing does not let the cold inside and you save money on heating. In summer, on the other hand, it does not let heat in and you save energy costs for air conditioning.
Which parameters are important?
Our attention should not be focused only on heat loss. It is also necessary to look at the heat gains. We must therefore examine the overall energy balance of the building.
- Thermal transmittance of the glazing Ug
- Total solar energy transmission factor = solar factor g or SF
- Light transmittance τv, = LT
- Light reflection ρv, = LR
What values should we expect from glazing?
In residential buildings, we should require the following values from our glazing. We recommend that you request the following parameters from your window supplier.
- Thermal insulation of glazing Ug at a level of 0.5 to 0.6 W/m2.K
- Solar factor SF = at least 50%
- Light transmittance LT = at least 70%
- Safety glazing and improved acoustics
Infinite number of functions for insulating glass
