Students consider the AGC brand to be the most attractive in the Ústí nad Labem Region

The AGC brand, which in the Czech Republic encompasses flat glass manufacturer AGC Flat Glass Czech and automotive glass manufacturer AGC Automotive Czech, is one of the three most attractive employers for students in the Ústí nad Labem Region. This is according to the latest results of the prestigious Sodexo Employer of the Year survey, in which students from the region voted for the most appealing employers. AGC is the second most sought-after employer among students, behind Orlen Unipetrol and ahead of Mondi Štětí.

Libor Sehnal, Human Resources Manager at AGC Flat Glass Czech, commented on the survey results: “This result is a great success for our brand. It confirms that we are attractive to the younger generation. I am convinced that we have something to offer them. Whether it’s the fact that they contribute to products that significantly influence the appearance of our cities or the safety of cars, or that we are constantly innovating glass production processes at our plants and reducing our environmental impact. We also provide our employees with various forms of flexible work arrangements or the option to work partially from home. We know that for young people, balancing work and personal life and finding meaning in their work are important, and a survey among students has shown that we are able to meet these needs.”

The AGC Group has consistently ranked among the best employers in numerous competitions throughout the Czech Republic. “Caring for our employees is one of the key areas we have long focused on. We strive to adapt our approach so that it reflects the needs of different generations and the diverse life situations our employees may find themselves in,” adds Libor Sehnal.

In the “Most Desirable Employer” survey among students, young people evaluate companies based on their spontaneous knowledge, without a pre-selection of individual companies and without a panel of experts. As a result, the results are unbiased and reflect students’ genuine views of their potential employers.

AGC Flat Glass Czech is not only attractive to students but also supports their studies. For example, it owns the private AGC Secondary School in Teplice, where it has been working to expand technical programs, particularly in recent years. Together with the state and European funds, it has invested approximately 100 million crowns in expanding the school and equipping it with modern technologies. The company also has a long-standing partnership with Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem and the Technical University of Liberec. “Our long-term support, particularly for technical education, is crucial not only for securing a skilled workforce for the future but also for raising the educational level of the entire region,” added Libor Sehnal.

The AGC brand is the world’s largest glass manufacturing group and is headquartered in Japan. The company owns five production plants in the Czech Republic with a daily production capacity of nearly 2,000 tons of float glass.
