AGC Secondary School in Teplice has opened a new building dedicated to technical fields of study

AGC Secondary School in Teplice has opened a new building dedicated to technical fields of study. The investment in the modern facility and state-of-the-art technical equipment exceeded CZK 100 million. With this development, AGC Secondary School becomes the most advanced institution for technical education in the region. The new building represents a key step in the strategy to strengthen technical education locally and offers top-level facilities for fields such as robotics, electrical engineering, and automation.

The ceremonial opening took place in the new building on Thursday, January 29, 2026, with the personal attendance of the Regional Governor, the Mayor of Teplice, and other representatives of public administration, local government, and distinguished guests.

Libor Sehnal, HR Manager at AGC Flat Glass Czech, said: “This investment is a logical continuation of the successful concept of our school. It will allow us to further develop study programmes that are crucial not only for our company but for the entire region. It is a strategic step that will help address the long-term shortage of qualified professionals in the labour market.”

Tomáš Holomek, Director of AGC Secondary School, added: “The construction of the new building is a response to the growing demand for our graduates and to technological developments in industry. We are pleased that, thanks to this investment, we can offer students an environment that meets current requirements for technical education.”

The new building connects previously separate parts of the school campus at Roosevelt Square in Teplice and offers not only modern workshops and laboratories, but also facilities for students and teachers. The building includes a central entrance hall, barrier-free access, and a securely enclosed campus.

“The new facility comprises four specialised workshops focused on electrical engineering, automation, and robotics, as well as new classrooms for teaching programming, industrial installations, and security systems,” said Tomáš Holomek.

AGC Secondary School has long cooperated not only with AGC production plants but also with many other industrial companies in the region, preparing students directly for practical work in modern industry.

Construction of the complex took place in 2024 and 2025 and was financed from the school’s own resources with support from subsidy programmes of the Ústí nad Labem Region. The school currently provides education to more than 450 students and continues to strengthen its role as a centre of vocational training for technologically demanding fields in line with the Industry 4.0 concept.
