AGC for Fondazione Prada: A perfect combination of architecture and art, innovation and a sense for experimenting

AGC Glass Europe, the European leader in flat glass production, reaffirms its position as an exceptional partner in the world of design, and participates with its glass in the creation of an eclectic-style building: the Prada Foundation in Milan, a prestigious museum dedicated to culture and contemporary art.

The museum was designed by OMA and Dutch Archistar Rem Koolhaas as an experimental space in a former distillery from the early 20th century, and with its 19,000 m2 of exhibition space, the Fondazione Prada immediately became one of the most interesting cultural venues on the international stage.

AGC Glass Europe supplied glass for the realization of the “sculptural” architecture of the building and, thanks to the excellent parameters of its products, ensured a perfect combination of architecture and the utilized art forms. The large windows of the Tower and the Podium have been completely glazed with Stopray Vision-60T on Clearvision glass, a new generation of high-selectivity AGC-produced glass that significantly reduces lighting, air conditioning and energy costs through a combination of daylight, solar control and thermal insulation.

This exceptional project, which cleverly combines design and contemporary art, further confirms AGC Glass Europe's role as an exceptional partner for architects and becomes concrete proof that the company sees its mission in research, innovation and a sense for experimentation.
